Using the various layout and content customization options supported by the template you will be able to tune the default settings of Disco Beat to your particular aesthetic requirements. There will be an option for you to set a custom color scheme for your site, choosing from a list of pre-defined variants (blue-dark grey, red-dark-grey, green-dark-grey). The change of the color scheme will be reflected in the main menu mouse-over effects, text and Read More links, etc. You will also be able to activate a logo image in the banner area, choosing from a set of custom options.
To diversify your site contents you could place various Joomla modules in the sidebars and the bottom area. For instance, you can place a custom Polls section in the left sidebar, or put a Search form in the banner area. Other Joomla modules include Popular links, Key Concepts, and Ads, etc.
